Hi, I’m Robert Cooke. By sharing my travel experiences and photography, I hope to encourage you to explore, and engage with our fascinating and diverse world.

The website title is a play on one of my favorite travel audiobooks, John Steinbeck’s Travels with Charley: In Search of America. The book describes his adventures across America in a camper truck with his poodle, Charley. I similarly love traveling in my Land Cruiser with my companion Bruin, a Norfolk Terrier.

I’m fortunate to have visited many wonderful places, but apart from a few trip reports for a mountain club, I haven’t recorded them. I am correcting this by writing these blog articles to document my travel and share what I learn from the various experiences.

I welcome feedback to improve both my photography and writing, please send me your thoughts on how I can do better. Suggestions for places to visit are appreciated.

The blog articles do not provide specific location details as it is generally easy to find the information on the web, and the secret locations should stay that way. But I will be happy to provide more information directly via email when I understand your travel goals.
